It may be hard to believe because it’s only early October, BUT… Christmas orders are already in full swing!! It’s true! And, the holiday season definitely sneaks up in a hurry, so I’d like to share some important information below at this time 🙂 :

The deadline to order Pet Portrait paintings as Christmas gifts is November 8th 2013. Ordering by this date ensures that you will receive your piece before December 20th. 

AND – I would also like to share that in the spirit of the giving season:

While I’ve called Calgary home my whole adult life, I was born & raised in BC and will always consider it my home as well. Since both places are important to me and are such a big parts of my life, I have selected one animal rescue society from each to donate to this holiday season. And here is some info on them:

POUND RESCUE
Pound Rescue is a no-kill, volunteer run organization which aides in rehabilitating, caring for, and finding homes for Calgary and area rescued animals. Although they are based out of Okotoks (approx 20 min from Calgary AB) at this time they don’t actually have a dedicated space to call their own yet, and currently all of their rescue efforts are done so from the homes of their volunteers. Recently though, I heard that they are currently raising funds towards building an animal sanctuary right here in town to further expand their rescue efforts even more so! KOOTENAY ANIMAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (aka KAAP)
Similar to Pound Rescue, KAAP is a no-kill organization which use dedicated volunteer foster homes to care for pets waiting for adoption. They also operate solely on donations and the efforts of their volunteers. Based out of Nelson BC, they offer spay/neuter help for low income families and seniors, compassionate care programs for pets of owners who are experiencing temporary problems and are unable to care for their pets, the barn cat program, and more. Their extensive website offers a free space for public postings of missing & found pets, and adoptables in the area. How will the donation amount be split between the two rescues, you ask? 
That’s simple! From orders placed from BC it will go to KAAP, and from orders placed in Alberta it will go to Pound Rescue. Then for orders received from outside of the two provinces, it will be split evenly between the two rescues.

Additional holiday order information:

• If you require shipping from Calgary AB, please let me know at time of ordering so I can ensure your package goes out before December 11th (which is Canada Post’s regular parcel cut off date). And please allow for extra order time whenever possible.
• Pet Portrait Gift Certificates are available now through December 23rd as well! (and 10% from these will be going towards the charities too!!)
• IF there are any painting slots left open after November 8th, they will be available on a first come first serve basis only. And once they are gone, they’re gone. 
• All Christmas orders come packaged ready to gift in! However if you’d like a handwritten personalized note attached please let me know.

– IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING XMAS 2013 ORDERS –

Unfortunately we didn’t quite make it to the November 8th cut of date originally planned, as I am already fully booked so no longer accepting Christmas orders for this year.
